Card Scene From "The Sting"

I feel this clip is fantastic and the mise en scene really adds to the atmosphere for example the cigarettes, alcohol and the green poker table, i feel we really need to include these in our film to make it look as realistic as possible. I feel the idea of the card changing is also very effective and also that the viewer is unaware that the player shows his 4 jacks instead of the 4 3's which we thought he had.

New Ideas

We as a group have decided that it would be beneficial if we changed our opening scene to the film, we are going to switch the football scene to a more relaxed poker game as we feel this could add to the effect of the film massively, our over arching plot will now be a poker game where one man goes into debt with seemingly a winning hand due to another playing cheating, the player who lost then decides to leave unaware of the cheating which has gone on, a previous player will also leave the game earlier to add to the confusion for the viewer of who will eventually kill the cheating player. The Body will Then be dragged to  a near-by field and dumped. I feel this new storyline will be more effective and professional and gain the viewers attention alot more.

1-A football
2-Chris, Stevy and Davis will need football kit, a change of clothes for the walk home and gear bags.
3-A knife
4- Police clothing
5- A white sheet


We will begin filming at 3pm.
